running a P5 program than coaching. As you can see by my handle I am a NW supporter and I would love nothing better than to see someone of his caliber coaching here.
At NWMSU he is recruiting mostly regionally and focusing on kids that will not be playing DI for one reason or another. He does that exceptionally well but that is an entirely different game than recruiting nationally against established P5 programs. I'm not saying that he cannot do it, just that an SEC program is not the place to be getting that type of on-the-job training.
If McCollum decides that he wants to coach in the big time, which he has not expressed interest in yet, then he needs to take some intermediary steps to make that happen. Adam Dorrel won three national championships in six seasons at NW but is a sub .500 since moving up.
