college football was worth watching or following. It turns out that one of his BILs became an assistant coach at GA Tech the year that they shared the NC w/ CU. He was talked into attending a game in ATL and was blown away. He had absolutely no idea that college football was a thing.
He was probably a typical New Yorker, and that would apply to NJ and a high percentage of sports fans in Boston. It’s one reason why there’s so many sidewalk Notre Dame fans on the East Coast…they think that Irish football is all there is to college football. It’ll be interesting to hear the observations of TBers who go to the Mizzou/BC game.
Since this is the football board and Sue brought up flagship status as some kind of a measure to judge the relative status of college football teams, your comment is absolutely spot on. I chimed in just because I can’t stand to see misinformation being spread.
