actually watch college basketball. The G-League gets very little exposure, and I doubt it generates much revenue.
The shoe & apparel companies know that, and will steer players (who endorse them) toward the higher-exposure CBB market. The only exception would be Zion-type phenoms if the NBA ever lifts its OAD restriction, but I doubt that happens, and those are just the extreme outliers.
(2) $500k is nothing these days. Last I checked, Texas A&M's annual AD budget was approaching a quarter *BILLION* (with a B)... $500k would be 0.2% of their annual athletics budget.
Of course, the schools won't be funding NIL bribes since that's prohibited, but the *boosters* will be able to put more of their money toward NIL instead of funding the AD.
