Pushing for all electric cars before mid century. Precious metals are necessary for the batteries and must be mined. Out of "concern" for the environment we will not mine those in the US. We will instead farm that out to other countries. Countries we know have little regard for the environment and will do far more damage than we ever would. And, we will also find ourselves victims of the whims of other countries if we actually wish to make automobiles.

You cannot overstate the abject stupidity of the environmental nutbags.
