Yeah it’s strange how someone would focus...

on a freshman not getting a hit with 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th inning. And not on our vaunted, mostly veteran offense only scoring 3 runs in 6 innings against a completely mediocre pitching staff. That’s where the game was lost, not in the bottom of the 7th with 2 outs.
There shouldn’t have even been a bottom of the 7th against a team like KU. We should have rung them up for 8-10-12 runs and the game would have been over. Like I said before the game, KU is capable of beating us if our hitters come out flat and let them hang around and hang around. Exactly what happened.
And it wasn’t our pitching either. Every game we hold a team, any team, to only 3-4 runs, I breathe a sigh of relief. Our offense, collectively, lost the game yesterday.
We should sweep Miss St without breaking a sweat, but after the last 3 games, I have absolutely no confidence we will sweep them, will probably be a 2-1 series one way or another.
