It's a small example of their entire world view, which is shaped exclusively by fake news.
It kinda reminds of a commencement speech Steve Jobs gave at Stanford. The graduates literally laughed at some of his most poignant wisdom because they had been indoctrinated into opposing beliefs.
This can make people look utterly foolish even cruel - they are certain they are ridiculing Satan while in actuality they are crucifying Christ.
And I'm not saying Rush Limbaugh should in any way be compared to the Son of Man, but he was a principled, hard-working American success story who made invaluable contributions to the United States of America and earned his medal of freedom in every way...
