horrible things about a person who just died. It is rooted in the same reason very young children will say things like “poopie” or “pee-pee” in the presence of others to get attention. They crave attention yet possess neither the cognitive nor communication skills to achieve it in more thoughtful ways. They resort to shock behavior in an attempt to mask their social inadequacy while drawing attention to themselves.
