that his views are out of touch with his constituents. That's what primaries are for.
I debated a friend years ago about the role of an elected representative. He was right and i was wrong. He said and now we both say, that the role of a representative to demonstrate in the campaign that his/her beliefs are in line with those of his constituents.
Not every single one, but generally.
And he is elected imo, to vote HIS CONSCIENCE on issues. If he thinks his constituents want him to vote one way but he strongly feels the opposite way, he should have the courage of his convictions. He should be able to make his case to his voters and if he cannot, they have the ultimate censure.
Otherwise, just have all the Rs in NC vote on every issue and force him to vote as he is told. That is what the socialists do. The Chest and chucky schemer tell their guys how to vote. They (claim to) represent the voters. The members of congress needn't spend time thinking, they just have do what thhey're told.
It works for clueless joe biden.
If you were a senator from wisconsin, if i lived there i'd vote for you, and you felt that a bill before congress was good when your constituents thought it bad, or the other way around, would you serve as a rubber stamp for the "will of the people" on this and every vote, or would you vote your conscience, explain your decision and accept the consequences?
