First of all, I am against a massive min wage increase.

I think where we are now is two different definitions/goals of min wage.

The Dems are working to change the definition of min wage to be more of a forced living wage, which I understand is within their ideals, but that is basically impossible to have a national standard on.

The Republicans are continuing to use the older definition of min wage which is just a bare minimum to prevent companies from "slavery" type practices

Since they are both using different definitions of this, it is almost impossible to have a reasonable debate on this topic.
