If the rules need to be changed, so be it. But I'm tired of players and other people *****ing about what the players are or are not getting. It's spelled out in the contracts they are signing. Don't like it? Don't sign anything. The parents are right there to help the athlete make these decisions. 100% voluntary all the way around.
