All good points. Stats can be used both ways to defend opinions. I’d say that if Troup isn’t shooting quite a bit and isn’t efficient making threes than she has pretty limited value on a good SEC team. She’d need to score close to double digits. Her value as a creator is very low , she’s not a rebounding guard/wing , not a threat to turn you over.
Troup started out last season as a catch and shoot guard hunting for her shot. To her credit , I suppose , she has adapted to a passive off guard focused on running the offense. Pingeton probably values that . I just can’t see how her present game makes this team better. I could well be wrong.
I’m not sure about comparing Troup to Alabama’s point guard .
