which is odd because the black guy before him was pilloried by the Tea Party for supposedly being a spendthrift.

Trump was record spending before he was even inaugurated. By the end of the first year when his tax cuts were passed, he was on record pace.

It's a textbook case of why tax cuts should never happen during an economic expansion. There's inevitably a problem at some point and you might need to cut taxes then. Except you can't when you need to because you already did. Hell, Trump wanted to cut taxes further anyway.

Four times in bankruptcy. Four.
