of priests growing up who were great men. Looking back I suspect that a number were probably gay and chose the priesthood for normalcy.
But I suspect that there was a subculture in the priesthood that encouraged, supported, and hid this behavior allowing many other people to be hurt.
The church knew this and did nothing to stop it because they were more concerned with the image of the church than the safety of the parrishioners.
