There are those that do not reveal their true thoughts on principle. "Don't discuss religion or politics."

There are those that do not reveal their true thoughts to pollsters and others for fear of ridicule and/or harrassment.

There are those that intentionally mislead pollsters.

Some pollsters do design polls to promote their political agendas.

Some pollsters over sample on purpose, while others are just guessing (assuming facts not established).

The more in your face tactics the person asking the questions uses, the less likely people as a whole are going to be completely honest.

Any attempt to quantify the silent voters in advance, and what they think, is futile.
