This election season there are two alternate universes the media (including social media) are operating in. This is so because the mass media are so polarized that any thought outside accepted group think is ridiculed. Consequently thought that runs counter to accepted group think is under reported and less visible. While pollsters recognize this they have no way to accurately report the discrepancy and it skews the numbers our mass echo chamber media report. 2016 was a stunner because the pollsters so got it wrong and may do so again.
Worse, some pollsters are designing polls to support a political narrative rather than reflect a true snap shot in time of the political climate normally by over sampling a given demographic. Or (perhaps more telling) are the people being polled ‘telling the truth?’
Are their sufficient numbers of people ‘not telling the truth to pollsters to skew numbers to a significant amount?’ Believe it or not pollsters use polls to determine this based on questions over a period of time.
