and 1944. Many of the same tools Hitler used to rise to power are similar to what Trump is pitching. Law and order (with a strong emphasis on it), building a wall to keep out undesirables, fear of low income people in the burbs (not atypical of Hitler's sowing fear of the Jews), and sowing fear of Socialism (Hitler was about as anti socialist as he was an anti-semite).
Trump has also threatened to jail his opposition and the press. Attacks on both the press and opposition were very prevalent in 1933 Germany. Trump, obviously, has not followed through because the US still has the rule of law that Germany did not once Hitler consolidated power but the fact that he makes the threat makes comparison valid.
