elements that determine rights with a society.
Cosmology being the view of the world, theology being the view of God(s), anthropology being the view of humans.
Change any one or more of these views and rights change.
India's caste system is an example. Their cosmology, anthropology and theology are far different from the Judeo-Christian West. In the caste system Dalits are viewed as having a different anthropology because of their cosmology and theology. Dalits are subhuman, due to their karma. So there is nothing immoral about how they are treated.
In the Christian West, cosmology is of the Earth being sacred space. The theology is of a loving God who created this sacred space cosmology for humans. The anthropology is that humans are created in the divine image of God. The view of rights from that are "self evident" in the Declaration of Independence. But the self evidence only arose out of those who have a Judeo-Christian cultural view. It would not be self evident to a Hindu.
