First, we have no idea how many people got exposed.
we have no idea how many people got infected

We have a bit of an idea of how many people diet while being positive, but no idea how many deaths it caused, because it is rarely the primary cause of death. It is like many other ailments that can start a cascade of events....the can go anywhere from nothing, to something mild, more, and up to death....but it is almost never the sole cause.
