stop those mitigation efforts.

Seat belt laws have lowered the number of people killed in car accidents.

Yeah but there aren't as many people dying in car accidents so why do we need the law?

Social distancing and mask wearing have lowered the numbers of Covid and have effectively prevented hospitals, particularly in rural areas from becoming overwhelmed.

Yeah but there aren't that many cases so why are we forced to wear masks?
