off, there are eligibility issues. (2) playiing essential two seasons in one year Is too much wear and tear on the players. (3) playing in the Spring would be essentially an exhibition season with a truncated schedule of about six games. (4) if, and this is a big if, the ACC, SEC and Big 12 play as well as the ACC And Sunbelt conference it puts the B1G and PAC 12 in a bad situation. Because essentially. There will be a crowned champion in the fall. Not so for any spring games. There will a Heisman trophy winner. Not so for spring games. Presumably if they play bowl games. No so for the spring games. (4) it will create animosity among the fan bases of those conferences that chose to sit out if other conferences are playing in the fall.
Finally if you are a senior or junior wanting to play in the NFL, your time in college is done. You will not be playing in the spring as it leaves no time for the NFL combines.
