It's not exactly the university system's remit to be the provider of entertainment. The fact that college sports have become so far removed from the university is part of the issue. Why even have them? Just create a minor league program for football like baseball has, the athletes that can be admitted to universities without compromising the university standards can elect to go to college and bypass the minor leagues and also get an education.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
