The death rate dropping while we're in the middle of a pandemic is expected. It's still not accurate. Guess what, the death rate will continue to drop. But if deaths per day start to increase severely, it tells you the difference between finding more cases from increased testing and actual more spread.

The death rate for the virus is what it is. The death rate was 5% a long time ago, but everyone knew that wasn't accurate.
