and it didn't result in tens of thousands of lives lost. If every single nursing home COVID death in NY was caused by this directive, which we all know is not the case, there were 5800 deaths from nursing home patients.

How many lives would have been saved? I'm not sure we'll ever know, but not "tens of thousands" and certainly not the gap between the death rate in Florida vs New York. So again, NY would have been better off without that, but it would have still been far worse than Florida.
