Get all the conference games going immediately and can move games around for covid issues and to maximize tv dollars by moving dates around. 12 conference games would up the tv dollars considerably. Without butts in the seats the teams will be willing to do Thursday, Friday, Saturday and even Sunday games before NFL starts. Maximizing tv dollars is going to be a priority.
