Have I ever said masks are useless in preventing the spread?

I've seen people arguing both ways. I'm not motivated enough to try and dig deep and bolster any certainty one way or another. If I had to bet I would guess that masks do help to some extent, perhaps fairly much.

But even if they do I'm still not convinced that everyone should be wearing them all the time anyway. Maybe it would be best for the most vulnerable and those caring for them to use masks in higher risk situations but for everyone else to just live their lives and deal with an infection if and when they get one.

I may not get a vaccine if/when they become available anyway. For those that won't perhaps it's best to get it over now rather than when we're older.
