football returns' is static which surprises me.
If football were to return to normal, in other words pre-pandemic, pre-protests all things considered equal, I believe viewership and attendance will both be down significantly with a continued downhill trajectory.

How we interact with each other post Covid-19 until there is a vaccine will certainly impact attendance. That dynamic will be slow to go away.

Couple that with the distaste of interjecting politics in to sports which is supposed to be apolitical and a unifying influence on our communities and many people without comment will simply not attend or watch or otherwise support those programs.
I think many are oblivious to the dynamics in play and their potential adverse consequences.
