The offense was freed up when everyone was hurt and CM was forced to let Dru and X run it. It wasn't by design more out of necessity. They were far more effective in getting in the paint and causing havoc than any other attempt we had made at doing so.
My hope is that this mindset continues (I have serious doubts it will) and all of the other pieces play off of those two. Gone should be the days where we attempt to make JT a back to the basket player. Or, draw up plays for Mark Smith.
JT should be a short corner player and athlete allowed to run free. Get him out of the pick and roll imo. It rarely leads to easy plays for him and the less you involve him in contact plays the better. M. Smith should be a 3 and D player only.
The biggest X Factor on the team is Kobe Brown. If he makes a huge leap it could transform the team into a top half of the SEC / possible tourney team. Assmuming we stay relatively healthy. Which always seems to be a major question mark with this group.
