I don't think he was trying to kill Floyd, though he clearly did. There were other officers present, as well as civilian bystanders and only a fool would assume no one was collecting video of the incident. Don't get me wrong, I think the Officer is at least guilty of manslaughter. Having read the Minnesota statute, it appears that a 3rd degree murder charge is reasonable. I don't believe there is any way a prosecutor can prove intent, unless the Officer communicated his intent to others.
