I went to high school with this girl and she is, to say the least, heavy on the left:
"Laughing at all the cowboys on my feed talking about how "they" would have been "protecting their property" on the plaza this weekend with the "2nd Amendment."
First of all, if you owned a front-facing business on the plaza, you would have done exactly what those business owners did - hid away in your Ward Parkway mansion and cash a fat insurance check at the end.
You also would have needed to pass high school accounting, you ****ing bunch of Kyles.
If this is what's bothering you most about this situation, that a few designer stores got their windows broken, I encourage you to watch the video again. Watch George Floyd cry out for his dead mother while he's brutally suffocated by an "officer of the peace."
If that doesn't upset you, at least imagine yourself in his place. Look how the officer held him to the ground. It'd be pretty hard for you to twist your head around and get one last bootlick in.
Maybe that, at least, upsets you."
And a response:
"For real. People wanna compare the destruction of insured private property to the loss of human lives. But it's no surprise. This country is founded on the concept of private property and the power that comes with it. Out police were organized with the intent of reclaiming the property of white slave-owners."
