There are people who study this stuff for years and years.
Writings that were referenced or known as "in the tradition of Mark & Mathew were passed around for decades upon decades. It required having someone who could both read and write Greek to make a copy for a group of faithful. There is an "original" and a copy. Another group wants one. They have someone who can read and write Greek, makes a copy and copy of the copy of the copy of the copy of the copy of the copy - for decades - until AFTER the destruction of Jerusalem an the Temple.
The only Gospel written in a world OF the Temple was Paul. He did not write letters in a Post Temple world.
Same copies of copies or copies for Mathew. Then at some point. One by a figure calling himself Luke. Writes Luke and Acts. Copies and copies and copies of copiess.
You have NO idea the variations that occur. Once a mistake was made, that mistake was copied and copied.
And the TELLING of events are not the same. In one Jesus is executed the day before Passover. In another the Day of Passover - which was it. Not the same. On the trip to Golgotha in Mark, Jesus is silent and has no clue what is happening to him. In Luke, he carries on dialogue with the weeping women on the way to execution. In Luke he chats it up with the thieves on the cross. Not the same, not even to mention that crucificion is a painful form of Asphysciation (sp?)- you typically are not too chatty when you can't breath. THE RELIGION is human, though I grant you the inspiration could be Divine.
