I know you also follow Mizzou softball. Is there anything in this argument that is not relevant also to college softball?

When I read through the reasoning here it seems like it could all apply to softball too. Except of course implications on athletes who are good enough to be drafted to play beyond college, of which softball players have far less access to.

I would love to see the college softball season moved back at least 4 weeks in a similar fashion, puts the Midwest and Eastern teams on a more level playing field with teams in the South and West. And gives players, particularly pitchers, more time to physically prepare for the season.

Yet I don’t recall seeing a similar push from softball coaches. Maybe I missed it.
