That is why it is going to settle. Through discovery they will have access to Goodell's, Kroenke's, Spanos' Jerry Jones' etc. etc. emails, texts and other correspondence. Think the NFL wants any of that to come to light?
That is also why it doesn't matter if Kroenke and the Rams file for Chapter 11. There will be plenty of defendants to go after.
Read this article from ESPN several months ago. It's a great read; I was smiling/laughing all the way through it. He is completely screwed and it is all due to his own greed.

But back to the loans, trust me, those are adequately secured. Either he had to personally guaranteed them, or some of his corporate entities did, or he had to pledge other assets as security (e.g., shopping centers, the Nuggets). I would hope you are right that he was not stupid enough to have his wife sign off on anything (she is worth 8-9 billion with a "b" by the the way).
As for the legal talent, the NFL's high priced legal team has gotten its ass handed to it at every round of this by a mid-sized St. Louis law firm. In that article, I loved the exchange where the NFL attorney stupidly brought up that the lease was over so the Rams could move wherever they wanted. The judge asked don't they need league approval? The NFL attorney said yes. The judge: "Well isn't that what we are here arguing about?" The St. Louis attorney jumped all over that and won the motion to keep it here and prevent them from taking it to arbitration instead of open court.
The least that is going to happen here is that the NFL will pay off the bonds that exist on the Stadium. I think they are looking at a whole lot more if they don't settle.
