The NCAA division 1 coaches association, selection committee members, NCAA analytics staff, and google analytics experts devised a method to award points to teams for every game. They tested their formula against prior years NCAA tournament results, and tweaked it until all were satisfied. Using their formula they could examine years back results to see if it held up.

It’s just a new analytical tool that replaces RPI as the main selection criteria.

Mizzou playing in one of the strongest conferences has plenty of opportunity to prove if they belong in the tournament.

It doesn’t seem to be causing major concern in the men’s division.
