I agree with your first statement.

Not sure about your second. Like 1918-19, there could very possibly be a second wave, worse than the first.

No idea about your third. I'm not an epidemiologist.

Are you?

That said, if an effective vaccine and therapeutic are devised, substantial eradication is possible, as with polio.
