The preamble to each story says specifically the list consists of Mizzou athletes he has covered *in his time writing about the Tigers since the late 1990s*. Not his time as a student. His time writing about them. So the chances of him picking a player in any sport who was a senior in 1998 are slim and none.
And I would be shocked if he considered 1998 a return to football glory. It was a return to respectability for sure. 2007 was a return to glory after slow, incremental progress under Pinkel.
I’m really enjoying his series just as you are. Can’t wait until the list is done, and then we can spend another month debating about what the biggest injustices were, who got left off that should have made it.
