for most GOP voters. But in response to that move the Dems decided to take a huge jump further left.

Very few Trump supporters actually like Trump. If the Dems would have simply moved back towards the center over the last three years and nominated a decent moderate Trump would have been pretty easy to beat.

Instead they had an entire stable of whack jobs run and in the process pull the few moderates further left. Biden is supposed to be a moderate but look at the stances he has taken on immigration, health care and student loans. None of those positions can in any way be described as moderate. But he cannot try to reel them in for fear of losing the Bernie supporters he needs to beat Trump.
