that is indeed their position (at least I think it is). No one has the right to impose any obligations on anyone. It may not be that absolute, but it's closer to their position.
I think it's hard for most people because we overlay different arguments like morality and end-results. Can you imagine, parents just getting fed up with a kid and walking away, leaving it to die in a shopping cart at Walmart? Folks with no duty to help just go on about their shopping and leave it there as it suffers and dies? That's the absurdity.
