I had a murder nearby about a month ago - second in the last 5 years. In both cases drug deal gone bad and in both cases it was the resident - renter - who pulled the trigger and in both cases the resident who pulled the trigger wasn't charged with a crime.
Meanwhile a couple miles North a man whose fence violates a local ordinance is in jail.
Shooting a man dead in a drug deal gone bad is perfectly legal but violating a local fence ordinance lands you in jail.
Go figure.
