1. What someone did in the past is not what we are voting on. It is what they will do if (re-)elected. If Bernie Sanders dropped all of his idiotic socialistic ideas and demonstrated that he would have good economic policies and would be staunchly pro-life I would be happy to consider him despite whatever stupidity he supported in the past. His past might make me a little more skittish as to whether he would follow through with his promises but it would in no way be a deal killer on its own.
I don't like some of Trump's economic policies, but he has proven that he will deliver on his pro-life promises and is appointing solid justices in his court appointments.
2. If Hitler was running and only had one bad issue... say
killing 6 million people in concentration camps, but was perfect on all of the other issues you cared about, would you perhaps vote for him?
Or what about if he was terrific in all other respects but was in an extreme arm of the KKK and planned on killing maybe 1,000 black people a day?
Or are you a single issue voter?
