Put the shoe on the other foot. Let’s say Hattie was catching and the batter said the ball hit my elbow guard, and then my bat. If it clearly didn’t happen that way I wouldn’t be concerned about Hattie speaking up and saying no that didn’t happen.
This kinda chatter happens a lot in sports. Competitors are a little on edge, and it’s not a bad thing.
