Folks go out of their way to call them treasonous, or coup participants. That's one extreme view. On the other side, you've got people hailing them as heroes and acting like they can never be replaced for any reason. That's not true either. But, I agree, if you're asked a question and you tell the truth, it's not a good indictment of the system if you're punished.
