I lived next door to a young lady from Iran in 1980. She was a student at Rolla like me. Very intelligent, very westernized, and I don't mind saying very attractive. I was married already but we considered her a friend and neighbor.
She was stuck in the U.S. She couldn't move back due to her western influenced lifestyle and feared retaliation from the religious fundamentalists that had taken over. Fortunately, she was able to get a visa to stay as she had graduated and found a job in Chicago.
When the subject of Iran comes up, I think of her and hope she was able to stay here in safety. She was a good person.
When you speak of people as stereotypes, you are simply spewing disinformation.
