Mizzou with an engineering degree. He and my sister, who are much older than I am, own an engineering firm in San Francisco. He was a bit of a father figure to me growing up and I spent a lot of time with him and a lot of Iranian ex-pats in the '80s especially. I don't think I've ever met a Persian who didn't think that the Ayatollah would be overthrown by now. I've never been to Iran but my sister and my adult nieces have been a few times. Very enlightening talking about their experiences. The Iranian state is always omnipresent on one hand but behind closed doors a very open and free society. also very pro-American and anti-Ayatollah for the most part.
