I'll boil it down for you again:
Theft requires a victim. A victim must have had their property rights infringed upon. The recipient of stolen goods has no bona fide rights to that property. Thus, when it is taken by someone else, the recipient is not a victim (since the recipient had no bona fide rights to the property). Without a victim, there is no theft.
Sorry, I'm not falling into your "gotcha", but this is not a terribly difficult concept to understand.
