For over two decades I conducted U.S. customs inspections for a particular industry. Inspections included visual inspection and audit, and occasionally sampling and analysis. I enjoyed dealing with U.S. consignees, which included major rail and entry port hubs, distribution and manufacturing centers, as well as the attorneys and international customs brokers. I least enjoyed assignments dealing with imports from China. What a mess! I do not believe the Chinese place value on QA/QC product integrity or health and safety concerns.
