(1) he's an STL guy, with deep roots and connections there

(2) he's cool, charming, and extremely likable

(3) he's black (which many believe helps with recruiting black athletes)

(4) he landed 5-star recruits at UT & Cal

(5) he's a respected "name" coach with a winning track record, thus has credibility

So... it's not just because he's black.
