bit from my class forum on the subject. Sounds pretty accurate now.

Bottom line: The Democrat Party have no hope of beating President Trump at the polls. Ergo; their recourse is to impeach. It is doomed because the US Senate will not convict DJT. Pelosi caved into the AOC wing and the many clown-car far left candidates....

Given the current state of redistricting across the congressional districts, there are only about 50 districts that are in play between the GOP and the Dems. Plus, a number of districts held by Dem freshmen were won by DJT in 2016. If Pelosi actually has an impeachment vote in the House, those freshmen/women are at risk and the probability that the Dems lose the House and Pelosi her job goes up as well.

I am not sure, even if Pelosi wants to, that she can whip the needed 218 votes to pass articles of impeachment. But, even if she can and does, the articles would be so flimsy, it would be a PR disaster for the Dems. And then there is the fact the Senate will not convict, and maybe not even conduct a trial.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
