That is part of the negotiation. He could say, "Oh, these tariffs are horrible and hurting us. We sure hope China comes around soon because we can't take this much longer" but how effective would that be?

Seriously, some of you really don't seem to understand in serious negotiation your are either fully in or fully out. If the message and actions are not airtight and coordinated, you lose. Trump is doing a fantastic job in this regard. And the hand wringing of others is evidence of why we have failed for so long.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
