Kids should learn to play guard as much as possible at a young age. It is much easier to become a big man if you grow a lot than it is to become a guard if you end up not growing any more.
Brown was a well regarded forward.
His dad had him play PG to (reportedly) make him more attractive to colleges.
This led to a lot of people wondering if he was going to be a guy who insisted on being a guard instead of playing his natural position of forward, and if he did it would reduce his value.
It appears he is on board with playing forward at MU and his natural ability at that position is (reportedly) setting him up to be an immediate contributor.
