However, he ended up playing on the perimeter all the time in high school as his coach (who is also his dad) wanted him to play point guard.

It made him much easier to defend, and scouts weren't sure how to evaluate his potential at the next level. Since it was clear they weren't gonna see him take advantage of what seemed to be his biggest strengths, he dropped.
